Abstract: While net neutrality movements are useful and essential to accomplishing the goals of a free, open, and productive internet, oversight into how the internet is used is not the only thing that can help promote these goals. Antitrust and competition law enforcement, especially in the U.S., can help accomplish these goals by curtailing the power of internet service providers which have a choke-hold on the basic infrastructure of the internet and act as gate-holders to a platform which is becoming more and more essential for daily life.
